DISMISS YOUR FURNAS COUNTY MINOR TRAFFFIC CITATION!

Successfully complete the S.T.O.P Driver Safety Course and have No Fine, No Court Appearance, No Points on Your Record, and Improve Your Driving Habits. Individuals must register for S.T.O.P. within ten (10) working days after receipt of the ticket. S.T.O.P. must be completed within forty-five (45) days after receipt of the ticket, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

The following citations are eligible for S.T.O.P class; Speeding (less than 15 mph), over posted speed limit 60-6186, Railroad crossing arm violation 60-6170, Improper backing 60-6160, Violation of Stop light/sign 60-123/60-6148, Left of Center 60-6131, Improper Lane change 60-6138, Follow too closely 60-6139, Illegal Turn 60-6160, Failure to signal 60-6163, Impeding Traffic 60-6193, Improper parking 60-6166, Overloaded front Seat 60-6179. Individuals are also eligible if you do not wish to contest your citation, or if you have not participated in the Nebraska Safety Center Safety Training option Program in the last three (3) years.

The following citations are NOT eligible; parking tickets, a citation resulted from an accident, multiple violations, major traffic citation (careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, reckless driving, and willful reckless driving).

Registration must be done in person at the Furnas County Attorney 's Office between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Remember to bring your citation, a valid driver's license, and Social Security number with you when registering. Costs for the classes include a money order in the amount of $74.00 made out to the Furnas County Court, along with $50.00 due at the beginning of class. Classes are held every 3rd Saturday from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Holiday times may vary. Classes are held on the second floor of the Arapahoe High School.
